Anyone whose spent time at MGM Northfield Park will tell you they come back
for the people and the relationships they’ve made while finding their fun.
“The People of Northfield Park” celebrates the little-known achievements
made by the staff on and off the clock.
PEDALING HER WAY TO A CURE
When you think of a security officer, several adjectives may come
to mind. In the case of Wendy AlNadi – Security Officer for MGM
Northfield Park — those adjectives are curious, artistic and caring.
Wendy is known for using her hands to make beautiful craft items
for team members, or using her voice to ease a guest in distress,
but it’s Wendy’s use of her feet to help find a cure for Multiple
Sclerosis that’s she’s most proud of.
Wendy is an avid cyclist, “it’s been a great way to get exercise
and find fun and amazing places you’d miss if in a car,” she stated,
but when her close friend was diagnosed with MS, a chronic autoimmune
disease that affects the central nervous system, Wendy
leveraged her passion into a tool to help not only her friend, but
also the 1 million others suffering from the disease here in the U.S.
Wendy and friends got together to join Team Mellen, a group of like-minded cyclists who peddle
towards a cure through the Bike MS® program. The program provides a formal structure for logging
miles and securing donations that pave the way for effective MS treatment and support.
Wendy has 3 fundraising milestones she strives for. $500 provides up to six months of counseling
services. $1,000 modifies vehicles so someone with MS can maintain their independence.
$2,500 provides 10 people with dedicated MS Navigator support.
Whether you see Wendy on her bike patrolling the MGM Northfield Park property,
or on the streets and trails with Team Mellen, know that she’s probably having fun,
but that fun is with a purpose, so clear the way, Wendy is in a hurry to make a difference.
